Time for a new Shoes from the Past post! Did you know that My Glass Slipper has been selling wedding shoes for more than a decade? We’ve seen a lot of bridal shoes come and go, and now we want to show you some of our past bestsellers.
Today we’re showing off a pair of Vera Wang wedding shoes: Talisman by Vera Wang. This pair of bridal shoes dates back a decade to 2002:
The Talisman by Vera Wang arrived at My Glass Slipper by mistake: We had originally ordered a plain t-strap style, but this version was sent to us instead. You can imagine our surprise when we opened the box and found all the shoes adorned with oversized dangling crystals! The people at Vera Wang agreed to send us the plain version, but they suggested we keep the jeweled version in the meantime.
What we initially thought was gaudy turned out to be gorgeous in the eyes of customers: Sales of this shoe soared. The Talisman became one of the most sought-after couture wedding shoes at My Glass Slipper – impressive if you consider the lofty price of $335 and 4 inch heel, which was not exactly a popular combination.
Vera Wang platform bridal shoes always sold well at My Glass Slipper, but the Talisman was the best of them all. In today’s wedding shoe market, there are many styles that seem to be influenced by this sparkly design.
Unfortunately this style is no longer available, but at MyGlassSlipper.com, we have some current wedding shoes with a similar look:
